Walmart return policies in 2009 (will they take this back)?

I know in the past walmart would take just about anything back with or without receipts, but thanks to people abusing it they have made it more stricter. My question is will walmart take my nintendo ds lite black and pokemon platinum as they stock them, but I don’t have a receipt for them as they were a gift, only the game is opened, I have all the accessories and boxes for both of them. If I go to my nearest walmart with the ds lite and pokemon game, will they accept them? I know they would probably give me only a gift card instead of cash. But I already have a psp, so I want cash (preferably) but gift card okay. I know you can only return 3 items without receipts and must have a license.
But don’t they scan them (like gamestop)?

No they will not. They have no way of verifying if these items were bought from a WalMart at all
