Which portable mp3 player is best to get?
Which portable mp3 player would be good to get? I just gave my 1st generation Ipod Nano to my dad and am looking to get a new mp3 player. I thought about getting a new ipod but want to see if there are any better mp3 player out there .
Here is what i want it do:
1. Play music , i plan to use the player when i’m reading nothing else, not working out or jogging.
2. If it can play videos , it would be nice to have but I really can do without it.
3. I don’t want FM Radio, it would go to waste.
4. It need to play MP3 , that’s what i use all the time . I don’t use WMA much.
5. I don’t need ton of accessories , maybe one protective cover and that’s it
6. Price range between $50 – $150.
7. It has to hold 500 songs or more. That what my old 1st generation Ipod Nano held so i would like it to hold more then this.

Unless you are looking for a new iPod, you will be hard-pressed to find an mp3 player without an FM radio. But for a cheap, simple player that supports mp3 playback, there are a ton of options. My favorite, and one that I have, is the Sandisk Sansa Clip. It is available in 1, 2, 4, and 8GB models for between $35 and $99, and plays music in a few formats including mp3, audiobooks, fm radio, and has a built-in belt clip. It also sounds really good and comes in a few different colors. The bright OLED screen is an excellent feature as well, letting you browse through the content on your player, sort by artist, album, playlist, rate songs, and change player settings. There is also the Sony B series players. It has the USB connection built into the player itself which is really convenient, plays music in mp3 and wma format, does have an fm tuner though, and has a nice 3-line display. It is available in 2 capacities 1GB or 2GB for $45 and $60 respectively. Or for something with video features, check out the Sony E or S series players, the Sandisk Sansa Fuze, the Creative Zen or Zen Mozaic, or the Cowon iAudio 7. If you don’t want an fm radio, you can always search amazon for an older Sony player, many of their previous generation players didn’t have fm tuners built in. Or, you can look into an new iPod as they still have no radio built-in. You can get the 8GB model of the new Nano for $150 and get just music and video playback. Hope that helps.
