Could the mechanics have tricked me?
My car alarm keeps going off a few hours after I get out of the car (Ford Taurus 04′). I thought an auto-starter device I have was the root of the problem, because it seemed to happen whenever I used that. The owner at the accessory store where I got the auto-starter seem to be giving me the run-around, and swearing it can’t be “their product”. They keep “looking” at my car and claiming “it’s not the auto starter” and therefore not honoring the warranty and replacing it. Recently, I asked them to disconnect it so I can rule it out. I’m suspicious they didn’t really disconnect it (to make it seem like the problem still exists even with their product disconnected). Their remote doesn’t work now with the car, but they could have taken out the battery or put in a bad one. Do you think they could have pretended to disconnect it?
Someone who only installs aftermarket alarms and remote start systems is by NO means a repair technician (aka mehanic). Take it to a real repair shop and if they find that it is infact the remote start system, then go to the store that sold and installed the damn thing with your information and demand they foot the bill.
