belkin iphone 3G case?

my cousin bought the first generation of iphone whenit first came out last christmas
it came with a belkin case included and i liked it becauser it seemed to work well for her
well i got to looking on ebay and it says that it will fit both the 1st gen. iphone and the 2nd gen. iphone
is this true because i dont want to waste $20 on something that my phone will continualy fall out of.

yes its true the iphones are the same size…but just one is faster than the other
