Where can I buy some fabric or beads for clothing&jewelry?
I’ve been making my own clothing and accessories out of the things I have to do my own designs.. but I can’t tear up and sew everything I own. I was wondering where I can buy some fabric, beads, or anything else like that. I just live by Walgreen’s, walmart I guess, I think a Kmart is like… 20 or 30 minutes away… the mall is 40 minutes away, and I pretty much just live by food places. I thought I did live by a fabric store but I cannot remember the name. Can you guys name some places so I can see if one is near me? Thank you!!
Also, you don’t have to answer, but it would be cool if you could also help me in finding out where to buy like a clothing figure to put my things on. Thanks.
I know what it’s called. I didn’t know whether or not to call it a mannequin because I would only be stitching the clothing on it.. MY BAD!! -.-
You didn’t mention where you lived, but I also dabble in making jewellery and clothing and I shop at several places. I agree with the other people who have answered: Michaels and Wal-Mart are good places for certain items ie. glue on crystals, cheap plastic beads etc.
I however buy my fabric from fabricland, or other quality fabric suppliers. I would do a google search to find the smaller suppliers in your area.
In terms of jewellery supplies, try online stores like Stones and Findings where you can order online or even get some ideas.
Lastly, the “Judys” can be purchased usually at a larger fabric store or sewing supply store. You might need to go to a bigger city, since they are not available everywhere. Alternatively, you could take a fashion course at a local college and use theirs.
