Auto Accessories Jeep Cherokee
I have a 1997 Jeep Cherokee SE and it does not always start, Security issue?
I put the key in an step on the brake and turn the key and it starts, other times I must step on the brake, turn the key to accessory, more the (auto) shifter to 3rd, then park and turn it to start it. Sometimes I have to do it like this and other times I just must put it into Neutral to start it. WHY? Is this a security issue or what?

PS I have manual windows and lock, no remote entry and nothing after market.
Sounds to me the transmission needs a replacement.
