What DJ Equipment/tables/mixer Should I Purchase?
I am a young novice dj looking to purchase my first set of tables. I do not wish to spin vinyl or cds. Though loading a cd into a mixer and than having the ability to mix it on tables is something that I would be ok with. Most importantly I would like a digital set of tables, with a mixer etc. Does anyone have any recommendations on what I should purchase? I would like a decent set, price is negotiable!! Please entail any information on the accessories and equipment I would need to be able to mix and mash music for listening pleasure. Thankyou. PS: I AM AN ALL GENRE DJ SO I WOULD BE MIXING ROCK, HIP HOP, ETC, not just house.
numark omni control ($350) it is a midi controller that already has a soundcard/audio interface in it so there is not need to buy one like with most other midi controllers. It already comes with Traktor LE software but i would upgrade it to pro for a hundred some bucks, and all that is left to buy is a pair of headphones and a laptop if you dont already have one. Now, i listed that because it was the cheapest while maintaining fairly good quality. now goin to the other extreme end of the price range is the numark ns7 it is pretty high quality stuff and also comes with an integrated audio interface/soundcard and it comes with Serato ITCH which is pretty darn good, so all that would be left is the headphones and laptop, it is a really good set up, a bit large though, and it costs $1,300. Another good midi controller is the vestax vci-300 runs about $900 also come with Serato ITCH and also has an integrated audio interface again you just need h-phones and laptop. There is also the less expensive vestax vci-100 ($500) which does not have an audio interface so you would have to purchase one, and it does not come with Serato ITCH either, instead it comes with Traktor LE. Again, i would upgrade it to pro. So you would need headphones, laptop, and an audio interface, one of the cheapest ones being the numark i/o. ($100)
